Shopping in La Manga Club

Shopping in la Manga Club can be one of the greatest pleasures you have on your la Manga Club holiday. There are boutiques in La Manga Club selling upmarket clothes golf. There are also golf shops in La manga club at the club houses and of course There are of course the ubiquitous Spanish souvenir shops. We have attempted to review for visitors the main shops in la Manga worth a visit and hopefully we help with essentials such as food to serious retail therapy. Email us with any la Manga shops and suggestion for shops that should be incorporated in our review.

You will find a lot on la Manga Club resort, from gifts, clothing, golf and tennis equipment, jewellery and items for the home to fine wines and groceries.

Supermarkets in La Manga Club: For food the club has excellent facilities but choice is a bit limited. There are excellent supermarkets in la Manga club but there is a great UPPER supermarket on the way to Cabo de Polos where food, wine, fish and meat prices are great.

In Los Belones there is an excellent butchers well worth visiting for that special meat for a meal in. There is also an excellent fish market area near the port in Cabo de Polos.

Staying at la Manga Club over the weekend makes a visit to the market in Cabo de Polos essential on Sunday. Everything is on sale here and prices are generally excellent. We have found bargains and quality in shoes, clothes, Spanish handicraft, olives etc, teas, fruit and veg, houseware goods and paintings. When you are finished you can pick up a roast chicken for Lunch – delicious! If you make it to the market do take care with your cash and wallet. Pickpockets work in the market like every market despite a police presence but take care and you will be safe.

If you miss the Sunday market in Cabo de Polos check out the list of other markets in la Manga in ‘Tourist Information’. The one in Los Alcazares on Saturday looks very comprehensive too.

Cabo de Polos is also an excellent source for Spanish Pottery shops which is great for presents or souvenirs to take home. The shop we use is located just down the road from the Market square. Instead of turning right for the harbour go on straight for about 400 yards - its on the right.

For Golf clubs and other sports gear the shops in La Manga club are on the expensive side. There is a small golf store in Los Belones with competitive prices and for expensive items like this its worth a bit of exploring.

DIY stores in la Manga are the Ferreterias which sell an extremely wide range of products. Among the best diy stores in la Manga is the one in Los Belones. One of the sons speaks English and is very knowledgeable about most diy projects you are likely to meet.

Shopping in Cartagena

Cartegena has a Carrefour superstore with a great range of goods at excellent prices. You can also pick up an excellent snack in the foyer. There is an amazing out of town centre just before you get to Cartagena. Shops include Decathlon, Media Mart and Leroy Merlin.

There are many other great shops in Cartagena – a lot of small boutiques covering a wide range of goods so its worth spending a bit of time exploring the many side streets. The largest shop in Cartagena is El Corte Inglés, which is the best of the la Manga department stores by a long way. It has excellent ranges for clothes, records at reasonable prices and there are smaller in store shops selling wine and other local produce in the basement. There is also a sizeable Eroski in Cartagena.

Murcia is a shopping mecca in the South of Spain see picture above. There is a very wide range of shops including fashion, food, antiques, Music and other entertainment and sports equipment. Shoe shops in La Manga are just the tip of an enormous leather industry in Spain.
