La Manga Club Sailing

"Call or text us now on +44 (0) 7768 720208 and have a fantastic holiday at My La Manga Club"sailing in la manga2

La Manga Club Sailing: Sailing in La Manga Club is a fantastic experience which you should try not to miss. The Mar Menor is a salt water lagoon which is a key part of the fantastic watersports in la Manga Club. Mar Menor means little sea in Spanish. The Mar Menor is separated from the Mediterranean by a 22 km sandbar which today is known as La Manga Strip and there are four inlets to the Mediterranean. The Mar Menor has a surface area of 170 square kilimetres and a coastal length of 70 km. There is often a brisk onshore or offshore breeze down by the Mar Menor making it perfect for sailing and with the onshore breese for windsurfing in la Manga Club.

The Mar Menor benefits from a relatively high salinity which aids flotation and with good onshore breezes down at Mar de Crystal from the La Manga Club side a lot of the time it is very safe even for beginners. The Mar Menor is a mecca for enthusiasts and others to enjoy windsurfing, la Manga sailing or other watersports.

If you are going to have an active holiday you should have good travel Insurance. Buy your travel Insurance from My La Manga Club.

We have tried to lead you a bit towards finding La Manga watersports clubs in the links below. La Manga Club itself used to work closely with a la Manga beach club down on the Mar de Crystal. The difficulty of making people keep to the rules of sailing and the difficulty of insuring free access to the water seems to have killed this off. Its probably best to start with one of the sailing clubs if you are an enthusiast and work from there.

We hope you enjoy your visit to our la Manga holiday resort. We would very much welcome contributions from our visitors to help build this site.

The Mar Menor Tourism site is the perfect place to get information on saliing and windsurfing tuition http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mar_Menor

There is also a good site for the Sailing Association Mar Menor http://www.sailingmarmenor.com/

The Sailing clubs at Mar de Crystal and Alcazares are good places to find reputable instructors to help you to enjoy the sailing experience at La Manga. The boat yards and clubs should be a good location for la Manga Chandlers although if you don't have your own boat with you all kit on board should be provided by the yard. Still if you need shackles etc this should be your place for chandlers in la Manga.

All along the Mar Menor there are numerous marinas in la Manga - Just make enquiries for boat hire , lessons and equipment

www.viva-murcia.com is a place to start if you are keen to buy a boat or of course the sailing clubs will have boats for sale.
