Luigis Restaurant at La Manga Club was one of the first independent restaurants in La Manga Club. Luigi was a very friendly Italian who personally greated guests at his restaurant. He created a fantastic Italian Bistro type atmosphere - we spent many happy evenings there.
Luigis is now owned by La Manga Club. The restaurant has ben done up but in part anyway has lost some of the simple Itaslian magic that Luigi had created. They have a big screen screen in one part of the restaurant. How can you fully concentrate on the person you have come to dinner with when you have moving images in a restaurant - TAKE IT OUT la Manga Club please. The Club has done its best to retain the same friendly informal style, quick service and good food and wine but its hard when the old patron has gone.
Pizza restaurants in la Manga are good but this is great. Luigis is excellent along with a good Italian menu and an excellent choice of wine. The thin pizzas still have the feeling of hand crafted rather than mass produced and are made to order with fresh ingredients.
In the other half of Luigis it is still possible to have a perfect relaxing meal - The decor is modern European rather than Italian but we had a nice meal there recently. Its still a favourite at my la Manga Club and is in our view the best of the la manga pizza restaurants if not the best pizza place in the whole of Murcia.
It not a huge restaurant and it gets very busy at peak times so its important to book early in the high season reflecting the fact that it is a great la Manga italian restaurant.
On the menu are all the favourites and there is always vegetarian options. We love the garlic fourcetta breads to start. My wife and I can't manage a whole pizza each and they are happy to let you share one with a green salad. Perfect!
The food at Luigis is perfect if you are trying hard to get fit at La Manga Club. Gym visits burn hundreds of calories and carbs in pasta is just what the body needs
Puddings are delicious and of course the ice cream is fantastic.
