La Manga Beach Club? La Manga Club is known for the fact that its a Golf Club and a Tennis Club and the sports available are practically endless. But what about the beach? la Manga Club is very close to the Med and the Mar Menor is visible from most of the apartments and villas. But is it close to the beach?
There are a lot of swimming pools in la Manga Club some of which are very child friendly. The large club pool down near the Tennis Centre is particularly good with good sized children shallow area.
The nearest beach though is La Cala which is inside la Manga Club resorts. It is just over a mile from our Los Altos villa - its too far to walk down a very steep hill. The beach is quite small but its a cool place to chill away some hours and of course its beside one of our favourite restaurants La Cala Seafood Restaurant. It also gets deep very quickly and there appear to be some strong currents
The next nearest beach is at Mar de Crystal which is around 3 miles away outside La Manga Club. This is a beach on the Mar Menor. Its a very nice beach indeed - Beautiful white sand and good beach bars. It is also very safe as the sand shelves very slowly
All the way down the La Manga Strip there are lots of beaches both on the Med side and on the Mar Menor
Up at Los Alcazares there is also a long beach front with many bars.
So La Manga Club is perhaps not a Beach Club in the normal meaning of the phrase but there is plenty of access to the beach and lots to do at the beach. The whole of the La Manga Club and La Manga is a watersports Mecca. You can swim. snorkle, dive or enjoy sailing, windsurfing, surf gliding, Fishing off the shore or deep sea fishing is available at reasonable prices.
