La Manga Club was originally designed as La Manga Country Club and was aimed very much at the American audience where Country Club living is a way of life for the rich and famous. In that context an hotel was designed at the heart of La Manga Club. The hotel was originally known as the Hyatt Regency La Manga Club and was run by the Hyatt Corporation. Since the sale of La Manga Club it has been renamed Principe Felipe La Manga Club after a Royal Family Name of Spain
It's purpose now as it was when the club was first set up was to act as a social and culinary centre for the whole of la Manga club. The Anapola Restaurant is the classiest in La Manga Club a real Jewel in the Crown. Apart from that it has a really sophisticated indoor coffee shop in the foyer where coffee and cakes do not cost the earth. You can also catch up with newspapers in the la Manga Club Foyer Cafe for free over a cup of coffee.
Sol y Sombra is a classic pool side bar but with the kitchen of the mighty Principe Felipe 5 star hotel backing it up. So if you decide to have poached egg on toast as a light breakfast before a game of golf or a burger and chips to fill yourself up afterwards you will get excellent food with great service in the shade beside the Hotel pool - wonderful.
The Hotel and La Manga Club offer weekend golf, tennis or spa based weekends. For an inclusive price you can savour the luxury of La Manga Club off season and have a spa treatment or a game while you are there. This is a great way to break up the winter in Northern Europe.
La Manga Club also offers a Members card with which you get substantial discounts at the restaurants and complimentary nights at the Hotel. This is a great way to enjoy La Manga if you are a regular visitor and an owner.
We have sometimes used the La Manga Club Principe Felipe Hotel as a way of extending a break to the club with a bit of real luxury. The rental weeks at La Manga Club run from Saturday to Saturday and if you have your villa let the following week you can always decamp to the hotel for a night or two. This is not cheap of course but very luxurious and you can always console yourself with the thought of the revenue you are earning on your villa.
It would be possible to do that at one of the other la Manga 5 star hotels. Even a la Manga 4 star hotel would give you some of the quality of the Hotel Principe Felipe in La Manga Club at a much lower price. This is all La Manga Catering services at their very best
