Fairways Lounge in La Manga Club is a new venue in La Manga Club. It is now a great place for a drink and tapas in a chill-out atmosphere. Fairways is proving to be a very popular addition to Bellaluz main square and complements El Bistro's more formal al Fresco setting.

Tapas is an alternative to a full meal in a formal setting and is often enough food. But Fairways aims to provide you with more of a complete venue - a place perhaps to spend a whole chilled out evening.

There is excellent Golf on the large TV and some very comfortable seats outside

Tapas - read the Wikipedia article here

The Bar is open from 5pm to closing time.

beautiful setting for Fairways Bar

Fairways was formerly known as the Sportsman bar. It was good as an informal place for a quick cup of coffee and kids tended to like the kind of informal meals they served. It was a bit like an English cafe but in Spain with decent coffee. I'm sure some people will miss the old place.

Sometimes a good English breakfast is what you fancy after all the fine foods. You may want to be eating out in La Manga still rather than buying everything and cooking it back at the villa.  Most restaurants try to help the English Man abroad with the need for a fry-up but without the Sportsman you need to try other places including Sol y Sombra. Amapola Restaurant, probably does the best cooked breakfast in Spain and then Los Molinos Cafe are also set up for a light bite of egg and bacon in the morning.

The Sportsman used to be a good place for a coffee while you read the morning papers which are for sale at the Supermarket in the corner of Bellalux Square. Now, however, you have the Bellaluz Cafe.

On our first night in La Manga Club in the week of 16th October 2011 we visited Fairways. It was almost the only place open late on Sunday night at least where we could go in our bedraggled state. We met Nick the Owner and his wife Joanne. Chris and I enjoyed a crisp bottle of their house Jumilla rose. This helped relax us after the trip. We were too late for food but a few crisps and some Olives.

Overall the changes to Bellaluz square are great. It was getting a bit scruffy around the edges and the Hyatt never really contributed to it. Now with Carolina and her family making a great effort even the most discerning visitor will find something to enjoy. The Trip Advisor reviews certainly seem to be saying that.
