Just as in the UK a bank is essential if you are going to own a villa in la Manga Club to pay for water and electricity and the annual fees you will have to pay for service charges to the club.
A Bank such La Caixa in la Manga Club is prepared to finance buying villas in la Manga Club and to provide la Manga mortgages and la Manga loans for improvements. It was an expensive process when we decided to take out a Spanish Loan though. The bank knows you but they still want you to pay to 'ensure' that you own the villa. There is a fee for that of course. The finance was available - up to £25k at 8.7% - GOOD G...! I have money in the bank on which they give me 0% and to borrow money they want to charge 8.7% - They are having a Laugh. The world has gone mad.

I met someone recently and I intend to follow his advice. I will be taking all my money out of banks and putting it in Premium bonds. If we all did this there would be such a panic at the banks and in Government that interest rates for savers would soon be returned to fair levels for savers.
